Joining Cub Scout Pack 12
We meet at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1200 W. Cornwallis Dr. No, you do not have to be a Lutheran to join! Cub Scouts do not promote any specific religion.
Our meetings are every Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. during the school year. During the summer, we have several activities such as a pool party and camping trips.
Cub Scouts can join by having their parent/guardian fill out an application, and paying $70 to “BSA Pack 12.” This pays for BSA registration, a subscription to Boy's Life, a t-shirt, a neckerchief and a scout book. The cost will be less if you are transferring from another pack.
They also will need a uniform (shirt, belt): total cost about $50 plus tax (see below).
We recommend you buy the shirt a little large so it will last for a couple of years!
Note that some financial aid is available based on need.
How are Parents and families Involved?
1stGrade Cub Scouts (Tigers) need to have a “parent/guardian” partner attend meetings with them. Parents of older scouts are welcomed and encouraged to come to meetings.
Adults can join by filling out an application;by doing the BSA on-line “Youth Protection” module; and by paying $20. in dues. This includes a subscription to“Scouting” magazine.
